This game is just for fun -- don't take it too seriously. Still, don't let it fall into the hands of children, police, or anti-drug fanatics. They may not care for the game's theme too much. (Though why they would object to this game, and still tolerate 'Street Fighter II' and 'Mortal Kombat' is quite beyond me...)
It's easy to play -- double click on the "Happyweed" icon, and the program will load up. For detailed instructions, press the "Instructions" button when the game loads. (Pretty straightforward...)
System requirements:
• 768K of free memory (not too much memory, you should have it).
• System 7
• 256 colors (it'll run in 16, but it's not quite the same, and you won't get any 'trips'. I wouldn't run it with any less than 16 colors. It'll look kind of bad.)
• AT LEAST 640x480 pixels (basically, any screen besides the 12" Apple monitor. Sorry, the game won't work on Pluses, SEs or Classics. If in doubt, try the game - see what happens.)
Notes:
• To pause the game, press the ` key. To resume, press the mouse button.
• To abort the current game, press 'Q'.
• If you're running After Dark on your computer, and it goes to sleep, the screen will not refresh. Don't panic!!! Just try to play the level the best you can. Better yet, don't put the computer to sleep while you're playing the game.
• I haven't had any problems running under System 7 (the game was developed on a System 7 Mac IIsi). But you shouldn't switch back and forth between programs in the middle of a game, or strange things might happen.
• The game should not crash the computer, but it's always possible! Save your work before starting any new application (including Happyweed!)
• Don't use any drug that's on a level higher than 8. I put the really dangerous ones up there. (In real life, I mean. Go ahead and use them in the game.)
If you have any bug reports, problems, comments, etc. please send them to the following e-mail address:
meep@mit.edu
Tell me what machine, monitor, system, other programs running at the time, memory, etc. It will help greatly in my future game-writing efforts.
And if you decide to keep the game, please pay the shareware fee. I am a starving college student... I ate only one meal today. There is no set fee, but any little bit you can send will be appreciated greatly. I'm currently working on another game, miles higher than this one in quality... and you might be in for a pleasant surprise later if you support Happyweed! now. Remember... what goes around comes around... Anyways, here's the address.

Have fun playing the game, and remember ... legalize it ... don't criticize it ...

Version 1.1 Changes
• I have put in a speed control screen, after many requests for such a feature. In a
future release I plan to make this automatic, but for now, this should do.
• The game will no longer run on a non-color Macintosh. (In V1.0, it would run and
crash the machine.)
• Sorry, but this version still won't run on System 6. Look for it in Version 1.2.
• I have changed the Instructions, High Scores, and Set Keys screens so that they will
work properly on Quadras, and they should be faster and easier to use on other Macs,
too.
• Now it should work perfectly with any screen larger than 640x480!
